Phil,

It sounds like for some reason Opus isn't picking up both inputs on your
sound card.

I don't know if this will help, but have you tried creating a
~/.asoundrc file specifying the channels? Something like the following:

pcm.!default {
  type plug
  slave {
  pcm "hw:1"
  channels 2
  format S16_LE
  rate 48000
   }
  }

Also, my reasoning for trying it with Jack is that sometimes Jack will
pick up both inputs on a USB sound card whereas straight ALSA won't.  I
know that Jack does eat up CPU cycles, but if it'll work with Jack but
you can't make it work with straight ALSA, then this might be a
solution, at least for testing.

The same applies to pcm, it requires too high of a bitrate and will drop packets when the
